THE MATERIAL
North American Basswood is the straightest of hardwoods, with fine uniform and unique grain. Basswood is the lightest weight hardwood, yet very strong and stable. It is low in resin and tannin, which prevents bleeding through the finish. Basswood is a renewable resource, and in line with our commitment to using sustainable materials. Each year the United States grows nearly twice as much hardwood as it harvests. Dynamic Shutters are built to last a lifetime, and that's why only the highest-quality materials will do.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Our shutters are precisely crafted to your exact specifications far each individual window opening. From start to finish, your shutters never leave our factory. The panels are assembled with superior quality wood glue called Titebond ®, which has been used by master woodworkers for over 70 years. Through years of testing and experience, Dynamic Shutters has confidently chosen the dowel system for panel assembly. The dowel system bolsters the strength of the panel by ensuring a tight fit. Each panel has a built-in tension screw which partners with a split nylon pin. The tension screw allows for adjustments in louvers resistance when operating your shutters. Our shutter panels are all mortised and rabbeted. The louvers and tilt rods are attached with Senco staples. Senco ® has been recognized around the world for over 60 years as one of the leading names in wood-to-wood construction.
THE FINISH
We use furniture-grade lacquer finish, which provides the shutters with a smooth and radiant finish. The shutters are thoroughly hand-danded before applying the undercoat primer, then hand-sanded once again before the final lacquer treatments are applied. The paint used contains a UV inhibitor lacquer that prohibits the paint from discoloring. Custom colors are available in both paint and stain. A strike off will always be sent out for approval prior to being painted or stained. Shutters that are made off-shore and rushed through the finishing process so they can be shipped in a container to the United States, do not provide the same level of attention to detail that we provide. These differences are evident in the final product. Dynamic Shutters finishes all the panels and strictly adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
